Welcome to NCLB
Thanks for visiting our beta site. Its a work in progress. Yes, NCLB is a cute play on words and an ironic reference to a former President most of us are grateful to have had. However, lets wipe the grin away for a second because in the roughly five seconds it took to read the first sentence our government has spent $230,000.00 in taxes, borrowed and printed money. It is the economy stupid, as a sage once said. So in an attempt to make sense of this fiscal madness we have created this website. With President Obama winning re-election rest assured that we will continue the fight using the only seemingly meaningful tool left in the arsenal of dissent...the first amendment. Assuming of course that David Axelrod's suggestion that we should revisit that amendment for the sake of national security isn't implemented. First let's set the ground rules for this site shall we.
This website has no aspirations of changing the hearts and minds of liberal relatives, friends or foes. Its frankly a lost cause. If by chance an independent or Ron Paul thinking fellow citizen happens to change his or her view as a result of this website, then we will declare that day...a good day. I am Sorry to impose restrictions but, liberals already have ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC, CNN, NYT, LA Times, Chicago Tribune, Mercury News, Seattle Intelligencer, AP, Reuters, Bloomberg, etc. That doesn't even include the self appointed illuminati of Hollywood who carry water for this President and his Administration as if they were Sherpa. The Death Of An Election. A Post Mortem and the Pain to follow.

Tonight we proved that you can lead an electorate to water and it will simply drown itself. There is no sugar coating the fact that Americans are gluttons for punishment and they have deemed it appropriate to punish themselves for another four years under president Obama.
Millions of dollars spent over 18 months only to end up in the same sorry mess we found ourselves only 24 hours ago. A paralyzed congress unable or unwilling to act and a President who will soon remind us that "Gentlemen, the discussion is over. I won." Where are the 23 million unemployed, where is there outrage? Where were millions of Christians whose faith has been trampled and dismissed by the secular progressive movement led by this President? Where were my fellow Roman Catholics whose beliefs were persecuted and ridiculed reminiscent of those lovely days of the Roman Empire? Where were the indignant females of this country who allowed the President to frame their entire existence around reproductive rights? And finally where were the adults tonight who know we are headed for financial disaster under this president? What happened?
This election like so many will be studied for years to come, but unlike any before we are at a tipping point and a post mortem is required. I cannot blame Governor Romney nor Congressman Ryan although blame will be assigned to them. They ran a strong campaign against an incumbent who ran his campaign modeled after "Seinfeld". Literally, a campaign about nothing. Bain, war on woman, war on gays, war on illegals, war on the middle class, etc. War of the week with no substance, supported by a media also adhering to the Seinfeld model. Gov Romney was a felon, he killed people, he is out of touch and lately he even caused the meningitis outbreak on the east coast. He never stood a chance of convincing a seemingly shallow electorate that these smoke screens covered a looming financial Armageddon. The one area in which he could do the most good for our country. Tonights victory then also belongs to the mainstream media. Bravo! The guard dogs of society have gone mad.
Should we blame the Tea Party? Why not? Maybe a little blame. Its good for the soul. In the end we may not be ready as a country to embrace a further right of center movement. We have not suffered enough under liberalism and fielding hard right candidates may be premature. The GOP and Tea Party must find common ground. It was all too obvious that the Tea Party of 2010 was absent in 2012. If the country was looking for a "new" kind of change they did not articulate it. Tea Party luminaries never overtly embraced Gov Romney nor did pundits like Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity to name a few.. Every endorsement was qualified with a preface that this was not their candidate of choice. Independents certainly sensitive to these nuances had to have taken away that Gov Romney was to the Tea Party the lessor of two evils. Poor strategy. The first rule of the Tea Party should be to do no harm. Ideological purity cannot be a litmus test or the conservative movement at least under the current electorate is doomed. The only nostrum for what ails a country enamored with the idea that happiness is another continuing resolution is the real pain this country will feel when their president cannot provide "stuff". A word so eloquently used by our president. In essence, the country must feel more pain in the form of higher unemployment, lower wages, hyper inflation and a dollar resembling that of a Greek Drachma. Pain. Sadly, its the only thing that will shock a country of drunken sailors into reality and back to some sense of fiscal conservatism. Cultural conservatism is a whole other issue, but first things first. Pushing further to the right without the pain will have no effect.
Should we blame a contentious primary? Possibly. The blood letting during the primary was of epic proportions. No one was unscathed, least of which Gov Romney who was forced to take hard right positions we knew the general electorate would not embrace in order to win conservative approval. The primaries resembled a World Wrestling Federation cage match where only one bloodied combatant can emerge. Sure Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum among others scored huge body slams on Gov Romney, but to what end? In the hands of a Chicago election machine those videos from the debates were manna from heaven. Could we have avoided the blood letting? I doubt it, although we could limit the number of Jack In Box would be candidates through some pre-screening. We could also set a deadline for entry into the melee so that primadona candidates would not opt for a long courtship before entering the arena i.e., Gov Perry. But in the end its our system and it was expertly exploited by the President.
Ultimately, we go back to the electorate. A vocal group that complained and whined about high unemployment, trillions in debt, government overreach, etc, but in the end decided to roll the dice for another four years of the same. I do not blame the President, he knows what he wants, I do not blame Gov Romney because he knew what he wanted to do. I blame the American people because they instinctively know better, but seem content to enjoy the short term sugar fixes and happy talk. Tomorrow I may be more optimistic, but today many of my fellow Americans were just plain clueless and the future pain will be exquisite.
